Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove stenchy components except ammonia effectively by a method wherein recovered ammonia containing a sulfur compound, etc. is passed through a layer of activated carbon.
CONSTITUTION: Ammonia recovered containing a sulfur compound, etc. is let pass through a layer of granulated carbon or granular activated carbon, which is used for the refining of gas, the purification of air, etc., at normal temperatures of approximate -10W40°C. Ammonia that stenchy components, such as, mercaptan, etc. except ammonia are removed is refined by means of this treatment. Salt, which does not generate malodors when the ammonia refined is changed into salt by means of neutralisation, is obtained from the ammonia.
