Abstract
PURPOSE: To recover a FeCl2 water solution with high concentration, of less impurities, efficiently by a method wherein FeCl3 and hydrochloric acid are extracted from a hydrochloric acid solution of a FeCl3 etching waste liquor by using trialkyl- phosphoric acid and water and iron are added to an extraction liquid.
CONSTITUTION: The concentration of hydrochloric acid is brought to approximate 1W2 normality by adding hydrochloric acid to a FeCl3 etching waste liquor containing a large quantity of iron and a small quantity of heavy metal components. FeCl3 and hydrochloric acid are shifted to an organic layer by extracting the solution with trialkyl-phosphoric acid such as tributyl phosphoric acid. When the organic layer is separated and water and iron are added to an extraction liquid separated, hydrochloric acid is reacted with iron and changed into FeCl2, and FeCl3 is also reduced to FeCl2. A FeCl2 water solution with high concentration, which impurities are little, can efficiently be recovered because heavy metal components are hardly extracted to the organic layer.
