Abstract
PURPOSE: To secure proper quantity of oil constantly by providing an oil-pressure introducing chamber in the ram and forming a part of small thickness on its outer periphery so as to adjust the clearance between cylinder and ram.
CONSTITUTION: For ram 1 is provided oil-pressure introducing chamber 5 that can lead to gateway 3 through pass 4 and on the outer periphery of chamber 5 is formed a part of small thickness 6. The thickness t of part 6 is such that outer diameter d can increase or decrease in proportion to the differential pressure between the oil-pressure supplied and that of leak. When oil flows through a narrow place, that is expressed in the formula a shown in the right. When pressure P is given to cylinder 2, ΔP is produced between point A and point B the latter of which is set in chamber 5 of ram 1, and the diameter d of ram 1 increases. Then the clearance between ram 1 and cylinder 2 on the surface of shearing movement lessens and oil leak also decreases. Furthermore, as flow speed V is also lowered, ΔP, as well as the difference of pressure between A and B, lessens too. Accordingly, diameter d of ram 1 shortens toward the original state and thus the increase and decrease of quantity of oil leak and diameter d of ram are constantly kept balanced.
