Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent abrasion and falling-off of ball head by making the radius of curvature of concaved spherical part of inner surface of casing close to that of ball head housed in the casing, while making the hardness of inner surface of casing equal to or lower than that of ball head.
CONSTITUTION: Ball head 20 is housed in casing 30 and supported by surrounding upper seat 40 and lower seat 50. Upper seat 40 is a thin layer of synthetic resins composed of adhesive layer 40a and shearing-move layer 40b, which shows caracteristics of self-lubrication and anti-abrasion and is capable to prevent low-temperature flow under load. The difference of R1 of concaved spherical surface of the inside of casing 30 from radius of curvature of ball head 20-R is made to be small, while the hardness of inner surface of casing is made to be equal to or lower than that of the ball head. If any abrasion should occur on the upper seat, the ball head is to touch on the surface of casing, thus progress of abrasion and falling-off of ball head from casing being prevented and the durability being improved.
