Abstract
PURPOSE: To make almost all the quantity of hydrogen generated by electrolysis infiltrate into a hydrogen permeable-type electrode so that metal hydride may be produced, by building a hydrogen permeable-type electrode part on the opening part of a dielectric vessel in a solid form.
CONSTITUTION: Hydrogen permeable-type electrode membrane 2 is installed on the opening part of a dielectric vessel 9 or a vessel applied with a dielectric seal so that an airtight structure may be constructed. Then pulverized metal material for hydrogen storage is contained in a sealed vessel. If electrolysis is performed with the hydrogen permeable-type electrode provided as a cathode in such manner that it electrically contacts electrolytic liquid 5, part of hydrogen generated is discharged from the electrode membrane 2 as hydrogen gas. While the remainder infiltrates into the hydrogen permeable-type electrode 2 and immediately is combined or occlud into pulverized metal for hydrogn storage as hydride.
