Abstract
PURPOSE: To realize the iterative reading for the original in a simple operation by providing the original holding device at the proper place on the carrying path of the read original and then actuating the device selectively when necessary.
CONSTITUTION: The lowest original 2a of original 2 stacked onto original rest board 3 at paper feed part 1 is sent out by feed roller 5 to reading part 8 after passing through separation roller 6 and brake roller 7 to be read out by reader 10. Original 2a read out is sent to mobile guide component 14. Original holding device 23 is installed at the position close to the tip of component 14. Thus original 2a carried by carrying roller 11 is sent to guide plates 16 and 17 at the upper and lower parts of component 14 to be then returned onto board 3. When the surface of original 2a is read, solenoid 20 is energized to operate device 23. Thus the holding part of catch component 27 protrudes a little over plate 17 to hold the original. Accordingly, the upper surface is turned up for the original returning onto board 3 since it is once inverted. And when the back of the original is read, device 23 has no operation.
