Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a measuring tape with clear graduations for long use, by forming a photo-solidifying resin layer on a black-color polyamide resin layer coated on a steel band, removing the graduated part of the phoyo-solidifying layer by photo-etching, and then coating it with a transparent paint.
CONSTITUTION: Black-color polyamide resin layer 3 is formed on the surface of steel band 1 by using nitrile rubber adhesive 2. On top of this is formed photo- sensitive (photo-solidifying) unsaturated polyester resin layer 5 by using elastomer adhesive 4. Next, graduations 6 are printed on the surface of the above by using black-color ink which does not permit ultraviolet ray transmission. After this, by irradiating ultraviolet rays, the resin of part 7, except for part 8, under graduations 6 is solidified. Then, the ink of graduations 6 is dissolved and removed by using alcohol. The resin on unsolidified part 8 is dissolved and removed by using acoustic soda. Next, transparent layer 9 is formed by using urethane or polyester resin.
