Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce power loss on account of the agitation of refrigerant, lubricating oil and the internal heat generation of a vane spring by making the vane spring not expand or shrink while a compressor keeps running.
CONSTITUTION: In a vane chamber behind a vane 10, provided a vane spring 7 to press the tip of the vane 10 against the outer surface of a piston 12. When the difference of pressure in the discharge pipe 21 from pressure in the suction pipe 22 is small, the vane spring 7 is pressed against the vane 10 to make up for the insufficient amount of gas force and the necessary pressing force of the vane 10 to the piston 12 is secured. When the pressure difference becomes sufficiently large, a differential pressure switch 20 detects it, the switch 20 is opened, a relay 29 is demagnetized, the contact points of the relay 29 are opened and current flow to a driving coil 9 is stopped. By so doing, a plunger 8 is pulled by the force of a spring 13 and energized in the direction contrary to the vane 10, the vane spring 7 separates from the vane 10 and the vane spring 7 no more expands or shrinks while the compressor keeps running.
