Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a vapor trap having a large volume ratio for trapping by a mechanism wherein the sectional area of cover gas route is sequentially increased so that gas can be flowed even when liquid metal is trapped and solidified.
CONSTITUTION: A hollow container 6 has inlet 4 and outlet 5 for gas. In the container 6, filler 9 is provided to trap vapor or mist of liquid metal mixed in gas. In this structure of vapor trap, the filler 9 consists of porous plates at its outer 2 and inner 3 peripheral surfaces, and is housed in an annular body 1 whose top is closed to ensure that gas radially flows from the center toward the outer periphery.
