Abstract
PURPOSE: To control a variable speed induction motor efficiently in the arbitrary number of revolution by a method wherein electricity is conducted or stopped in a one cycle unit of a power source by controlling semiconductors while using a period up to several dozens seconds from one cycle as a cycling period unit.
CONSTITUTION: Pulses 19 are generated from an absloute value circuit 13 when applied voltage 6 in one cycle changes to negative from positive, a control circuit 15 is operated when the pulses 19 reach number set by means of a speed set circuit 17 from arbitrary reference time, gate pulses applied to semiconductors 10 connected to an induction motor 8 are suspended, and the motor 8 is disconnected from a power source. The motor is again provided with the gate pulses after one second from the said reference time and brought to an operation condition. Thus, the revolution of the motor can be followed up to instruction speed by increasing or decreasing pulse generating time for one second while loss due to higher harmonics can be lightened by conducting pulses with a sine-wave form as they are.
