Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a copper-activated zinc sulfide-based green fluorescent material useful for the fluorescent layer of a monochromatic cathode ray display tube giving high contrast, easily recognizable display, by mixing a fluorescent material emitting green light and having yellowish green color, and particles of specific magenta pigment.
CONSTITUTION: A fluorescent compositon obtained by mixing (A)pts.wt. of a fluorescent material emitting green light and having yellowish green color, composed of zinc sulfide (cadmium sulfide) as a main component and copper as an activating agent, and (B) pref. 0.005W5pts.wt. of magenta pigment particles having reflectivities at wave lengths of 450, 500, 550, 600, 650 and 700nm of 15W80%, 5W70%, 5W30%, 10W70%, and 30W80%, pref. 15W40%, 15W40%, 5W20%, 5W25%, and 50W70%, respectively.
