Abstract

PURPOSE: To shorten the detection time for an operation switch without reference to the number of switches by correlating driver circuits and detection circuits of respective groups of lines constituting a matrix and by using each group of lines as driving lines and detection lines by turns synchronizing with the mode time.
CONSTITUTION: A matrix is formed of the 1st and the 2nd line groups 11 and 12 and key switches 13 and 13' are arranged at intersections of line groups 11 and 12. To line group 11 of this matrix, driver circuits 14 are connected which activates at the same time all line group 11 at the 1st mode time without exerting an influence upon line group and to line group 12, driver circuits 15 are similarly connected which activate at the same time all line group 12 at the 2nd mode time. Additionally, sense circuits 16 and 17 which sense activation states are connected to driver circuits 14 and 15. Then, driver circuits 14 and 15 are alternatively driven at the 1st and the 2nd mode times to change line groups 11 and 12 over between driving lines and detection lines to shorten the detection times for switches 13 and 13' without reference to the number of switches.
