Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain distinct copies and reduce copying time by so arranging the machine that the cleaned portion of photoreceptor reaches the exposure region before or at the same instant when the movable part of optical device reaches the exposure start position from pause position.
CONSTITUTION: The machine is so constituted that at the same instant of copying the movable part 135 of an optical device 40 moves from the pause position, performs exposure on the surface of a photoreceptor 26 on the way of this movement and again returns to the pause position. Means 36 and 38 for cleaning the surface layer 24 of the photoreceptor 26 are provided to its outside circumference so that the cleaned portions of the photoreceptor 26 reaches the exposure region before or at the same instant when the movable part 135 of the optical device 40 reaches the exposure start position from the pause position.
