Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce manufacturing cost of a heat-sensitve recording paper by a method wherein at least one component of diazonium compound, coupler, and basic substance is isolated from other components, and a heat-sensitive recording layer is formed in one-layer construction. CONSTITUTION:A heat-sensitive material such as carnauba wax and the like having a melting point or softening temperature of 50-250 deg.C is melted by heating, at least one of three components of diazonium compounds such as p-diazo-N,N- dimethylaniline chloride-zinc chloride double salt, a coupler such as phenol and basic substance such as thiazole derivative being added, cooled, and pulverized. Next, the remaining components are added into a binder, mixed with the pulverized material for coating and drying on the substrate such as high-quality paper, which forms the heat-sensitive color-developing layer to give the heat-sensitive recording paper. On heating said recording paper, the pulverized substance is melted and the component comes into contact with each other to bring about the color development reaction. A fixation is attained by decomposing the diazonium compound by light.
