Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a positive electrode having good electrolyte absorbing performance by performing premolding of positive electrode mixed agent powder so as to have uniform surface against separator and allowing said molded powder to be stored in a positive electrode can and applying pressure to and remolding said stored material in the can so as to have flat surface. CONSTITUTION:Positive electrode mixed agent powder is premolded so that the surface to face separator has uniformly distributed rugged surface. Said permolded tablet (D) is inserted into a positive electrode can 1 so that the surface is faced to separator, and applied with pressure by means of metal mold having flat pressing surface . Positive electrode washer 2a is filled in the positive electrode can 1 and remolding is performed so that the surface is made flat and higher density is obtained. By the remolding process, relatively lower density part is allowed to exist on the flat surface, and thus electrolyte absorbing performance is improved, and high reaction efficiency of the positive electrode 2 can be resulted.
