Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform processing efficiently by outputting data with different contents according to the kinds of input data by providing an encoder to a keymat input device itself in a data processing system.
CONSTITUTION: In the unit capable of input switching between a string of coded data (item data) displayed by the keymat and requiring much time for processing and coded data (code data) displayed on the key itself, item data, when inputted from data input key 3, are stored temporarily in FFs 5a and 5b by the command of control circuit 7 and its contents are selectively outputted in sequence by selector 8 together with data from booksensor 1 and page sensor 2 and led out via buffer 9 as address data for access to data in the conversion table of external controller MP. Then, when code data are inputted, key address data are converted direct into code data by encoder 4 by the command of circuit 7 and stored in FF5c before being sent out as directly-usable data to controller MP via selector 8 and buffer 9.
