Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain simply a granular rodenticide with improved palatability and rodent killing properties with maintaining the flavor of an excipient in its original condition, by melting a rodent killing active ingredient and an excipient with hardened oil solid at normal temperature, followed by granulating.
CONSTITUTION: A rodent killing acitve ingredient (e.g., norbormide, warfarin) and an excipient are granulated under keating using a hardened oil (e.g., hardened beef tallow, hardened peanut oil, hardened cacao butter) solid at normal temperatures, most preferably by extrusion, to give a granular rodenticide. The amount of the hardened oil is 5W50wt%. The rodenticide obtained has the flavor of the excipient in the original condition, improved palatability and rodent killing properties.
