Abstract

PURPOSE: To readily perform welding of base metals or plates of large grooves by fitting an insulation-type tip cap to the outside surface part of the tips securing to a plurality of guide tubes provided with the single torch body in an insulated state.
CONSTITUTION: Tips 4 which supply the welding current from a teriminal plate 3 are coupled to the respective ends of the mutually insulated guide tubes 1 and a conduit tube 2 is provided to the other end. A torch outer barrel 5 is fitted to the outside circumference of the guide tubes 1 and top and bottom covers 6 and 7 are integrally provided to the top and bottom ends thereof to secure the respective guide tubes. The top cover 6 is hermetically coupled to the outer barrel 5 and the anti-oxidizing gas (e.g. CO2) for the weld zone supplied into the outer barrel 5 is released through the orifice 7a pierced in the lower cover 7 to the torch end. An insulation-type tip cap 8 is fitted to part of the lower cover 7 and the plural tips 4 are set by this tip cap 8.
