Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture the weatherstrip easily and to improve its design by making the weatherstrip of soft synthetic resin and by forming it together with a lace, which is provided on the outer edge of the weatherstrip, simultaneously.
CONSTITUTION: The weatherstrip W by which the window glass 2 is attached to the flange 1 of the window is made of soft polyvinyl chloride resin, the quality of which is similar to that of rubber, by extrusion molding, and the broad lace 4 that can cover the whole weatherstrip is attached to the outer edge of the moldings. The lace 4 is made of an ornamental and weather-resisting metal or synthetic resin by extrusion molding. In this way, no vulcanization is required after extrusion molding, manufacturing process can be simplified, time and expense are economized, clear color can easily be obtained to improve the appearance. The lace 4 can easily be attached to the moldings by simultaneously molding the weatherstrip W and lace 4 to make the two adhere closely to each other.
