Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a title resin composition useful as cathodic electrodeposition to provide corrosion- and impact-resistant coating layer by using conjugated diene polymer derivatives and completely blocked organic polyisocyanate as essential components.
CONSTITUTION: An adduct of conjugated diene polymer with α,β-unsaturated dicarboxylic acid (anhydride) is reacted with cpd. with alcoholic hydroxy gp. and/ or primary or secondary monoamine to provide a compound (A) which is partially esterified and amidated. The cpd. (A), epoxy cpd. (B), and primary or secondary amines (C) are reacted to cause addition reaction between the remaining carboxylic gp. in cpd. (A) and the epoxy cpd., as well as amination of the reaction product. This is followed by neutralization to form a neutral product. The neutral product is mixed with a completely blocked organic polyisocyanate to provide the object resin composition.
