Abstract

PURPOSE: To attain miniaturization and reduction in cost with constitution simplified by applying a reverse-current preventive diode with a voltage obtained by rectifying and smoothing a voltage across the primary winding of the transformer of a DC power circuit.
CONSTITUTION: Alternating-current power supply 1 is connected to DC power circuit 2' to develop voltage V1 across smoothing capacitor 4 and also to apply reverse- current preventive diode 5 with voltage V2 obtained by rectifying and smoothing the acorss voltage of the primary winding of the transformer of DC power circuit 2'. Both those voltages V1 and V2 cause superposing capacitor 6 to develop its high across voltage V1+V2, which is applied from output terminal 7 to a load to gennerate an arc. Once the arc is generated at the load, load impedance lowers and voltage V2 also falls to supply voltage V1 across the load.
