Abstract

PURPOSE: To place the lead frame at predetermined position by providing a through hole in the vicinity of the mounting unit of a pellet table of the lead frame, a taper pin at the pellet mounting unit, and restricting the frame when mounting the pellet.
CONSTITUTION: When a lead frame 4 is supplied to a mounting unit 6, the end 12b of a pin is inserted into the hole 1a of the frame, and the end of a member 10 interposes a table 2a for arranging the pellets of the frame 4 with plates 9. Then, a collet is accurately placed at the predetermined position on the table 2a with the pellets 7. When the pellets 7 are placed on the table 2a, a pin 12 is separated from the hole 1a, and the member 10 is also separated therefrom to thereby release the restriction of the frame 4. Then, the pawl 14a of a feed mechanism 14 is engaged with the hole 1a to thus carry the frame to next step. At this time a bar 11 is advanced to insert the end 11a into the hole 9a of a retainer plate 9. Thus, the rear end 11b of the bar 11 is moved out of a light source 13a and a photodetector 13b, which produces a signal. Thus, a novel frame is then supplied. This configuration can accurately bond the wire and improves the productivity.
