Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to install a horizontal type water heater safely under the floor, by placing the body of water heater in a container box and passing a portion of or all of intake air through the container box.
CONSTITUTION: A horizontal type water heater is constituted by placing premixing type burner 5, combustion chamber 6 and heat exchanger 7 laterally in casing 2, with mixing pipe 4 and fan 3 being connected to the burner 5. The casing 2 is placed in container box 1 and intake pipe 10 is opened at one side wall of container box 1. Intake air is passed through an opening for exhaust pipe 9 and a space formed between box 1 and casing 2, and then introduced into casing 2 from inlet port 13 located on the opposite side of intake pipe 10, thus cooling the most part of the apparatus. Here, container box 1 is installed under the floor, while a control box for the water heater is installed above the floor.
