Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize the electrical control for the back tension in a simple constitution by making the arm performing the tape lead-out action function as the tension arm at the tape running time and at the same time securing the electric tape tension control.
CONSTITUTION: For the tape lead-out action, arm 67 of the take-up side starts the counterclockwise turning when arm 123 of the supply side turns halfway after starting the clockwise turning. Arm 123 contains guide roller 70 at its tip part and thus functions as the tension arm after end of the tape lead-out. At the same time, tension roller 139 is incorporated at the tip part of arm 67. Tension arm 185 is born by axle 186, and tape 188 is guided for winsing via tenison pole 187. Then the turning position of arm 185 due to the tape tension is detected by differential transformer 190, and this output voltage gives the control to the back tension of the tape.
