CONSTITUTION: After cast iron whose composition is almost equal to case iron quality thereof must be improved is molten, Ce is added to prepare mother cast iron and this mother cast iron is added to mother cast iron to be improved. This mother cast iron is easily dissolved in cast iron to be improved and Ce is far uniformly distributed within cast iron as well as an adding amount of Ce can be reduced. That is, an adding amount of Ce is about 1/10 as compared to a conventional method and tensile strength is enhanced as well as chilling is reduced.
