Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare medicinal powder which can be easily converted to micelles in the digestive tracts even in hungry or in sickness, and has improved absorbability through the lymphatic gland, by covering the surface of silica fine powder with a solid, amorphous, oil-soluble drug component which can be absorbed through the lymphatic gland.
CONSTITUTION: An oil-soluble drug component which is solid at room temperature and absorbable through the lymphatic gland, e.g. coenzyme ubiquinone 10, nicotinic acid dl-α-tocopherol, etc. is dissolved in an organic solvent such as hexane. Fine silica powder is wetted with the solution, and the solvent is removed by heating the mixture at a temperature below the boiling point of the drug component, leaving the drug component as an amorphous layer on the surface of the powder. The weight ratio of the drug to the silica is 1 to 1W15. The composition can be easily converted into micelles in the digestive tracts without adding a surface active agent such as cholic acid salt, etc., and sufficiently high absorbability through the lymphatic gland can be expected.
