Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A sulfonanilide of formula I (X is H or trifluoromethyl group; R1 is methyl or chloromethyl group; R2 is nitro or trifluoromethyl group; R3 is H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkoxyalkyl, acyl, or acylmethyl group; R4 is H or chlorine; n is 0W2) or its salt.
EXAMPLE: 2-Trifluoromethyl-4-(pyridin-2-ylthio)-5-chloromethane-sulfonanilide.
USE: Herbicides suitable for plowed and paddy fields, orchards, mulberry farms, mountains and forests, farm roads, grounds, and plant sites, preferably in an application amount of 2.5W500g per arc.
PROCESS: An aniline compound of formula II is reacted with a compound of formula III in the presence of an acid acceptor, e.g. dimethylaniline, to give the desired compound of formula I.
