Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the stability of chairs by attaching casters to the legs of chairs through elastic member to hole the dead weight of chairs when the chairs are vacant and to allow the legs of chairs to come in contact with floors when chairs are loaded.
CONSTITUTION: A spring plate 4 is fixed to an arm 3 extending from a bearing means 2 attached to the extremity of a leg 1. A caster having a wheel 5 is fitted to the spring plate 4. When the chair is loaded, the spring plate 4 is bent to allow the leg 1 to come in contact with the floor so that the chair is stabilized on the floor.
