Abstract

PURPOSE:To control a phase in a wide controllable range in the phase control device for the thyristor rectifier by applying the same firing signal to the thyristors of high voltage side and of intermediate taps of a main transistor and varying the set synchronization of an AC power source with the firing signal. CONSTITUTION:The intermediate taps I1, I2 are provided at the secondary winding of the main transformer T1, and the thyristors TH3, TH4 are connected between the high voltage side tap and one output terminal O1. The thyristors TH5, TH6 are connected between the intermediate taps I1, I2 of low voltage side and the output terminal O1. A phase control firing signal is applied to the gates of the thyristors TH5, TH6. A synchronizer circuit SY is provided between a synchronous transformer T2 and a phase shifter PS to synchronize the time constant circuit of the phase shifter PS with the AC power source and to alter the synchronization by the synchronization change command signal (SCS) by a rectified output decrease detector circuit (DVR), thereby obtaining the phase control device having less output distortion.
