Abstract
PURPOSE:To maintain evenly the pressure of hydrogen in a layer filled with powder of metal hydrate by filling up the powder of metal hydrate in a housing container which is capable of being communicated with the outside through a partition wall having a number of passing holes and by arranging a pipe for heating and cooling inside the container. CONSTITUTION:The passing holes existing in plenty in the partition wall of the housing container 2 have diameters smaller than those of metal hydrate particles to be filled up in the container and the diameters are usually within the range of 1-100mu. In the case when hydrogen is filled up in the storing container 1, the hydrogen is injected by opening a valve 7, while the inside of the container 1 being cooled by a coolant passing through the pipe 3, and the introduction of the hydrogen is stopped when the equilibrium pressure of hydrogen is attained, and the valve 7 is closed. When the hydrogen is to be utilized, the valve 7 is opened, the inside of the container is heated by a heat medium passing through the pipe 3, and thereby the hydrogen is released from the metal hydrate substance.
