Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent a multi-component coating material from being stagnated, and thereby enable the coating material to be fed at a constant rate, by providing a feed roller in contact with a lower end of a coating material supply hopper, and a spray roller, which is rotated at a high speed, in contact with the circumferential surface of the feed roller in parallel thereto.
CONSTITUTION: Materials which are to constitute components of a required multi-component coating material are placed separately in compartments of a supply hopper, which are difined by a partition provided therein. Liquid layers of the components are formed via a feed roller disposed in contact with a lower end of the hopper and rotated at a predetermined speed. These liquid layers are transferred onto a spray roller so as to be mixed together, which spray roller is disposed in contact with the circumferential surface of the supply roller and rotated at a high speed in the same direction as the supply roller. The resulting mixture is sprayed tangentially in the downward direction from that portion of the circumferential surface of the spray roller which is on the opposite side of the supply roller. For example, a hopper 2 having a required number of chambers defined by a partition 3 is disposed on a feed roller 1 in such a manner that a gap is formed between an outlet 4 of the hopper 2 and roller 1, which gap is wide enough to allow a mixed layer of a hardening agent a and a main material b to be passed therethrough. Also a spray roller 5 is provided, which is in contact with the circumferential surface of the roller 1 and rotated at a high speed.
