PURPOSE:To decrease the scale of a font memory and make it the same size to the scale of character by making a matrix size of character and a pattern element the same, containing these in the font memory and performing interpolation by extending the matrix end part. CONSTITUTION:The codes CODE for a font memory FM which stores characters and pattern elements in the matrix constitution are decoded with a decoder DEC to discriminate whether they are the codes indicating characters or the codes indicating pattern elements.
