Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable the knowing to fine contents of faults by checking the operation state of the apparatus, detecting the occurrence of any fault to display, and enabling the displaying of the number and kinds of the faults occured.
CONSTITUTION: The entire part of the copying machine is controlled by a control unit 21 and the operations of the respective mechanisms are checked by a supervisory unit 22. A driving control part 23, a high voltage control part 24, a paper feed conveying control part 25, a fixing device control part 26, a developing device control part 27 and an exposure device control part 28 are provided. The control parts 23W28 receive the start and stop signals at the specified timings from the control unit 21 and output the signals to the supervisory unit 22. The supervisory unit 22 discriminates whether the corresponding control parts are operating normally or not from the time relations with the signals that they received or the output levels. The signals from the control unit 21 are counted one by one by a copying sheet number counter 29 and are displayed in a display part 30.
