Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a chlorine-containing rubber composition having high adhesivity with a fluororubber without using an intermediate rubber layer containing a fluororubber, by adding a neutralizing agent and a water-absorbing agent to a chlorine-containing rubber.
CONSTITUTION: A chlorine-containing rubber material which generates acidic gas during vlucanization, is compounded with Ca(OH)2 as an agent for neutralizing the gas and CaO as an agent for absorbing water produced by the neutralization reaction. The amounts of the neutralizing agent and the water-absorbing agent are pref. 3W5pts.wt. and 2.5W5pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of the chlorine-containing rubber. The composition is suitable as the chlorine-containing rubber for the outer layer of a fuel (gasoline) transfer rubber hose having a fluororubber inner layer.
