Abstract

PURPOSE: To relase the attraction force between magnets as well as reduce the sliding wear of a thrust bearing for the magnet to be driven by letting a static pressure difference generate between both sides of the driven magnet and applying the force due to this pressure difference directly to the driven magnet.
CONSTITUTION: Revolutions of a drive magnet 12 operated through a motor shaft 13 rotates a driven magnet 6 by magnetic coupling and further a rotor 14 composing a pump, and thus a pumping operation is performed. At this time, the driven magnet 6 has freedom in the axial direction and is drawn by the drive magnet 12, but can hold a constant position as the end bearing 10 contacts a seal plate 11, where the following relation is maintained: Width of the coupled side gap A>width of the uncoupled side gap B. Accordingly the relative speed is generated between the fluids in the gaps A and B when the driven magnet 6 rotates, setting the static pressure at A side higher than the one at B side. Thus the leftward pushing force is applied to the driven magnet 6.
