CONSTITUTION: The time of closure of the intake valve is set nearly in the vincity of the bottom dead point of intake. The head-discharge curve of the valve-closure side is required to be made gentle, and so as to make gentle the section xWy of the head-discharge curve of the valve, the positive acceleration section x'Wy' in the corresponding acceleration curve, i.e. the section C is set 1.2 times or more of a section A. In this case, the area in the acceleration section A is equal to the area in the acceleration section C. The acceleration curve in the section C may be set to be curves D and E.
