Abstract

PURPOSE:To vary the energy distribution of laser beam, by using a composite lens made of plural condenser lens pieces having the optical axis part eliminated. CONSTITUTION:The laser beam L is irradiated to the composite lens 6 made of two condenser lens pieces 8a and 9a obtained by eliminating the optical axis part from the ordinary convex lenses 8 and 9 each. The beam L passed through the lens 6 is divided into two semicircular luminous fluxes S1 and S2 to be converged toward the focuses on the optical axes P1 and P2 of the lenses 8 and 9 each. In this case, the position is replaced between the fluxes S1 and S2. Thus, for instance, a high energy distribution is obtained at the periphery of the area along the line II-II in the diagram with rather a low and uniform energy distribution obtained at the center line, respectively.
