Abstract
PURPOSE:To avoid the production of interference of normal run and of tape squeaking, by forming a magnetic recording medium excellent in lubrication, through the coating of magnetic paint including saturated fatty acid ester of anhydrosorbitol on the substrate. CONSTITUTION:On the base of magnetic recording medium (magnetic tape), magnetic paint including 0.2-20pts.wt. ester of saturated fatty acid (stearin acid and lauric acid etc.) of anhydrosorbitol is coated to 100pts.wt. binder to make the magnetic tape. In comparison with the addition of other lubricant as conventional ones, the adverse effect on the magnetic coating film is less and the strength of coated films is not deteriorated, allowing to obtain magnetic tapes less in the lowring in Young's modulus, hardly attached with magnetic powder on the magnetic heads, less in friction coefficient and longer in life with the usage of small amount.
