Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the function of an automatic adjustment of a streetcar line tensility by a spring type tension balancer so that, even in case of an expansion or a contraction of said line due to a change in a temperature and the like, the said tensility may be adjusted without being restricted by a flexion and length of a spring as well as a force exerted on the spring may be maintained constant.
CONSTITUTION: In case a streetcar line expands, a spring retaining board 11 screwed to a screw rod section 2a of an adjusting shaft 2, a knob 2c of which is connected with one end of said line, is moved to the left by springs 12. This causes a projecting dog 13, installed on the outer rim of the ring retaining board 11, to come into touch with one of the contacts 14a of a limit switch 14 and a motor M makes a normal revolution. The revolution is transmitted to a driving gear 5 through belt 8 and the like, thereby revolving a nut 9. Thus the spring retaining board 11 is transferred to the right along with the nut 9. This transfer action continues until the dog 13 separates from the limit switch 14. In case the streetcar line contracts, its tensility is maintained constant by a reverse revolution of the motor M.
