Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a seat back of a car seat with a frame in such manner as the frame is usable both as a side support and an armrest at a user's option as well as an angle setting of the frame can be properly adjusted for its use as an armrest. CONSTITUTION:A frame 5 serving both as a side support and an armrest is installed with rotational freedom to a bracket of a seat back 1 through a shaft 4. A plate 10 of the frame 5 is provided with a stopper pin 16 which protrudes inward and works together with a cam plate 17 fitted in the shaft 4. The cam plate 17 is provided with the first and the second stopper pieces 20, 21, which allows a revolution of the frame 5 along the functional range as the side support and the armrest through their engagement with the stopper pin 16. Further, internal thread 22 are formed on the cam plate 17 and may be interlocked with external thread 28 of a lever 25 in swiveling support 26 of the frame 5 so that an angle setting of the frame 5 may be adjusted for use as an armrest.
