Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce both the energy losses and fan noises of a cooling fan without sacrificing cooling effect thereof, by mounting a cylindrical inductor to a cooling fan monolithically and arranging it so that it is interlinked with a revolving magnetic field around a shaft line concentrical with a rotor. CONSTITUTION:A rotor shaft 4 suports a cooling fan 16 rotatably around its shaft line with an intervention of ball bearings 15. The cooling fan 16 has with it a cylindrical inductor 17 monolithically, and the inductor 17 is positioned adjacent to the outer circuit of a rotor 5 and arranged within a revolving magnetic field generated by the rotor 5. When the rotor shaft 4 is driven to rotate and a winding is excited, with magnetic poles 6, 7 forming opposite poles the revolving magnetic field is created around the shaft line of the rotor shaft 4. Some of magnetic flux in the revolving magnetic filed pass through the inductor 17 and are pulled magnetically by the revolving magnetic field to rotate according to the rotation of the rotor 5. According to the rotating speed of the rotor 5, the cooling fan 16 rotates either at a higher or a lower speed.
