Abstract
PURPOSE: To make the velocity of flow in an oblique plate apparatus uniform and make precipitation efficency higher by obliquely providing the oblique plate apparatus, as well as by providing an inflow port and an outflow port of a suspension, by positioning the same on the side where the sectional area of the flow passages of a flow aligning part is larger.
CONSTITUTION: The suspension consisting in mixing a coagulant into feed water under stirring is admitted from an inflow port 12 via a lower flow-aligning part 21 to an oblique plate apparatus 16, where the floc formed precipitates on the lower flow-aligning part 21 and the clean water is discharged from an upper flow-aligning part 20 into a flow passage 15 through an outflow port 14. In this case, the upper and lower flow-rectifying parts 20, 21 are so formed that the sectional areas of their respective flow channels become linearly larger, on the side nearer to the inlet 14, 12; therefore, the velocities of flow of the suspention between the respective oblique plates 17... with respect to the other are uniformalized and the sedimentation of the floc formed is accomplished uniformly in each part. With this constitution, the efficiency of precipitation is considerably improved and since the floc does not flow out to the upper flow-aligning part 20, there is no need for providing any troughs.
