Abstract

PURPOSE:To control the sectinal shape in the direction of breadth over a wide range, by applying the equalizer beam to the inner housing, by turning the inner housing with the jack, and by separately adjusting the roll gap on the left side and the right side. CONSTITUTION:The equalizer beams 21, 21' are freely elevatably arranged on the top and the bottom faces of the inner housings 12, 12'. The inner housings 12, 12' are turned around by the movement of the jacks 13a-13d; hereby, the upper and lower roll groups are rotated. At first, a couple of screw down devices 11 are actuated to adjust the initial roll gap of the work rolls 2, 2'; then, the roll bending device 5 installed between the inner housings 12, 12' and the work roll chocks 6, 6' is actuated to adjust the roll bending force. By the present method, the sectional shape of the rolled material can be adjusted over a wide range, besides, since the couple of rolls can be intercrossed, the crown effect of the roll can be equalized on the left and the right sides.
