Abstract

PURPOSE: To permit various enzymes to be highly efficiently fixed at low cost by forming a film layer opposed to a substance to be measured of a specific film layer.
CONSTITUTION: The film surface opposed to electrodes is composed of a macromolecular substance capable of selectively transmitting substances which are produced or consumed by enzymatic reaction and possible to electrochemically sense. The film layer opposed to a substance measured is formed by fixing enzymes to polyalkylenimine bridged by a functional compound, or a mixture of a macromolecular substance and polyalkylenimine being bridged by a functional compound. The substances produced or consumed by enzymatic reaction and possible to electrochemically sense are, e.g., oxygen, hydrogen peroxide, ammonia, carbon dioxide, hydrogen ion, NADH and NADPH.
