Abstract
PURPOSE: To weld high tensile steel of ≤80kg/mm2 class without preheating by welding the heat-treated high tensile steel of the specific relation between the composition of base metals, PCM, hardening temperature and N, Al amounts by the electrode with the covering of the specific composition and potential hydrogen amount.
CONSTITUTION: The high tensile steel to be welded consists in hardening and tempering the steel comprising essentially 0.04W0.09C based on wt%, ≤0.55 Si, 0.6W 1.4 Mn, 0.3<Cr≤1.0, 0.3<Mo≤0.8, ≤0.1 V, 0.0005W0.0020 B, 0.04W0.1 Al, 0.002W0.004 N and iron and unavoidable impurities for the remainder, of ≤0.25 PCM and the Al and N amounts at a hardening temperature T°K satisfying the formula II, and is superior in weld crack resistance sensitivity at ≥80kg/mm2 tensile strength.
