Abstract

PURPOSE: To regenerate the exhaust gas energy to utilize the energy by a mechanism wherein one-way clutch mechanism is provided in a transmission mechanism for the power regenerated from the exhaust gas.
CONSTITUTION: In the transmission mechanism, through which the turning force is transmitted from the shaft such as that of gas turbine 3 or the like to the crankshaft 5 of the internal combustion engine, one-way clutch mechanism permitting to transmit the turning force regenerated by the gas turbine only to the fixed direction is provided so as to be able to transmit the recovered power to the crankshaft 5 only when the rotational frequency of output shaft is relatively higher than that of crankshaft 5. Due to the mechanism described above, when the rotational frequency of exhaust gas energy regenerating device such as gas turbine 3 or the like is low or temporarily the rotational frequency of engine crankshaft 5 is relatively higher than that of regeneration device side, the transmission of power is interrupted and no power loss is resulted, while energy is regenerated from exhaust gas during normal load operation.
