PURPOSE:To expand measurement range and facilitate measurement work by providing a disconnectable auxiliary scale for extension and an auxiliary scale for measuring outer side to a main scale for measuring inner side which moves together with a graduation indicating body and is projectable. CONSTITUTION:When an object to be measured is small, the inner side measuring surface 5 of a main scale 1 is placed on one inside surface of the object and an inner side measuring surface 12 is placed on the other surface by sliding a measuring body 4 moving together with a graduation indicating body 3 to the right side, thence the length is read with graduations 7. To measure the inside width of a relatively large object, an auxiliary scale 14 is connected to the rule body 2 of the main scale 1 by way of a connector 16 and the inner side measuring surfaces 15 and 12 are placed on the inside surface of the object. The sum of the lengths read from the main scale 1 and the auxiliary scale 14 is taken. In the case of measuring the height of the object, an auxiliay measuring body 18 is connected to the rule body 12 via a connector 18 and the height of the object is measured by using the outer side measuring surface 21 and the inner side measuring surface 12. Thereby, the measurement range is expanded and the measurement work is facilitated.
