CONSTITUTION:A base plate 11 to which a measuring rail 12 is fixed, whose inner side is cut away and which is connected with rails 4 on which railway cars can run, is installed, and on the plate, an outside contactor plate 13 to which an outside contactor 14 is fixed is mounted slidably, and further on the contactor plate, an inside contactor 15 is mounted slidably. To the outside contactor 14, a resilient force in the direction of leaving the measuring rail 12 is given, and to the inside contactor 15, a resilient force in the direction of approaching the measuring rail 12 is given with, for example, fluid pressure cylinders 18 and 21, etc. Further on the outside contactor plate 13, a differential transformer 24 with a link mechanism 22 which transmits the displaced amounts of the inside contactor 15 is provided to convert the displaced amounts of the inside contactor 15 in relation to the outside contactor 14 when the flange 2 of a wheel to be tested has intervened between the two contactors 14 and 15 into electrical signals.
