Abstract

PURPOSE:To analyze the noise characteristics of the friction surface of a disc pad in a short time without being affected by vehicle types, etc. CONSTITUTION:A pair of samples 5 and 5' sticked to plates 6 and 6' are fixed to a sample holding jig 7 and the jig 7 is fixed to a shaft 8. The other end of the shaft 8 is pressed against the piston 1 of an air cylinder 31 via a load cell 9. An arm 11 is fixed to the shaft 8 perpendicularly and its other end is held between coil springs 12 and 12'. A screw 14 is fixed via a load cell 16. To the arm 11 is screwed an acceleration pickup 17 and its signals are input to the Y-axis of a recorder 20 and the number of revolutions of the disc 3 are input to the X-axis, thus drawing the amplitude-revolution number curve of frictional vibration. The pressing force signals of the cell 9 and the frictional force signals of the cell 16 are input to the Y-axis of a recorder 26 as the signals of a friction coefficient.
