Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of moire phenomenon by specifying the mesh value and stretching direction of a screenlike photoreceptor in an image forming method of forming images by modulating ion current by the use of the photosensitive screen. CONSTITUTION:A screenlike photoreceptor which is stretched with a screen of which the mesh value has been set at >=244 lines/inch in the direction of roughly 45 deg. to the longitudinal direction of an original or photoreceptor is used. When the above-mentioned photoreceptor is used, moires are produced with a halftone original of about >=163 lines/inch, but the originals which become the target for copying are, in general, of <=170 lines/inch halftone images (the majority are <=130 lines/ inch) and there are no problems in practicable use.
